THIS WILL BE IN STOCK BY OCTOBER 8TH

Twenty years on, Dear Mr. Fantasy still feels like a secret passed hand-to-hand.

In this anniversary reprint, John Bannon’s signature blend of devious method, elegant structure, and real-world practicality remains as fresh (and as fooling) as ever. These are effects designed for thinking magicians: bold, commercial magic with clever principles hidden in plain sight, all delivered with Bannon’s trademark clarity and wit.

A modern classic when it first appeared, Dear Mr. Fantasy stands today as essential reading for anyone who loves smart, devastatingly effective card magic.

Nineteen effects with playing cards • 200 pages • Hardbound and illustrated with 70 black-and-white photographs • New swoon-worthy cover art by comic book artist Mike Norton (DC/Marvel/Archie).

“What I find interesting about [Bannon] is that he doesn’t take anything for granted. He has the ability to examine all assumptions, question common wisdom, and rethink all or any aspects of a trick’s plot, props, or procedure. Dear Mr. Fantasy is a terrific little book, filled with a variety of card magic that will provide a satisfying fix for cardicians everywhere.”
